I was the fat kid
in class. You know, the one who can't keep up in gym class,
the one everyone pokes fun at, the one who goes home feeling
miserable because the other kids were mean to him. The stigma
of that is carried with you for your whole life. No matter
how good you may look as an adult you will always carry that
fat kid around with you somewhere deep inside. You spend your
whole life looking for the miracle diet, watching the latest
fads like a hawk, just to get some advantage.
That is how I
found Don Lemmon. OK, I was no longer the fat kid, in fact I
was quite sporty. I worked out regularly and watched what I
ate. Still, I wasn't all that I wanted to be. I still looked
for that one diet that would get me there, make me look as
good as I believed everyone else but me looked. A guy in the
office recommended the Zone diet, it had worked for him he
said. No matter that he was carrying far too many extra
pounds and I looked better than him, psychologically it
didn't feel that way. So I went out and bought the book. I
read it, and I read it again. Something didn't quite ring
true but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I looked at the
picture of the author. He wasn't fit or athletic, in fact he
had more than one chin. Why would I want dietary advice from
someone who looked worse than I did? I needed something else
to help me on my way.
I looked on the
internet, searching for more information on the Zone diet and
the other craze, Atkins. Neither seemed entirely healthy to
me, and found a site run by a guy called Don Lemmon. Now here
was someone I wanted to look like. Slim, healthy and above
all, strong looking. He had the kind of body you see on
magazines. THIS was how I wanted to look. Don's site listed
various reasons why the Zone, Atkins, Body for Life, food
combining and more just do not work and are doomed to
failure. Not only did he say why they wouldn't work, he
offered an alternative in the form of his book, "KNOW
HOW, Exercise
and Nutrition - THE TRUTH". This
wasn't a diet, this was a whole lifestyle designed to improve
your overall quality of life in addition to better health.

day, that is right SEVEN! My calorific intake is higher than

steak, fish - all are allowed and are back on the menu. In
fact in his book, Don explains just why eating too few
calories per day has the opposite effect and causes you to
put on fat weight.

phenomenal results. In just eight weeks I dropped body fat
and had a lean body with visible abdominal muscles. I saw
tangible increases in the weights I am lifting and saw my
sport related speed and agility increase despite not actually
